NOTE: WordPress does not provide import functionality for theme options, custom fields, required plugins or other settings. This means that even with the theme sample data file, you will still need to adjust your theme options and most likely add content according to the setup and usage instructions below. Installing Your Theme

There are a number of ways to install a WordPress theme:

- WordPress admin
- S/FTP
- Hosting control panel (cPanel used as a specific example)

The recommended installation method for most people is through the WordPress admin, though some theme updates may require the use of S/FTP or your hosting control panel. Instructions for all three options can be found in the Using Themes Codex article.

Accessing the Theme Options

To access the theme options page for So Simple click “Appearance” and then “Customize” within your WordPress admin.

Create an Intro Page

To create an intro page as show on the demo, add a new page with your intro page content then follow the steps below:

  1. Click “Appearance” and then “Customize” within your WordPress admin.
  2. After the page loads, click “Theme Options“.
  3. Under “Page for Intro“, select the intro page you’ve just created.
  4. Click “Save” to save your changes.
Full Screen Post Images

To add a full-screen background image to your post, follow the steps below:

  1. While editing a post, find the “Featured Image” box.
  2. Click “Set Featured Image“, then select or upload your featured image.
  3. In the “Post Options” box below, select the color of text you would like to use on your background image.
Using the More Tag for Post Intros

Truncating your posts as shown in the theme demo is really easy to do using the WordPress “more” tag.

  1. While editing a post, place your cursor where you would like to truncate your post.
  2. Click the “More” tag in your post editor to insert the break point.
