NOTE: WordPress does not provide import functionality for theme options, custom fields, required plugins or other settings. This means that even with the theme sample data file, you will still need to adjust your theme options and most likely add content according to the setup and usage instructions below. Installing Your Theme

There are a number of ways to install a WordPress theme:

- WordPress admin
- S/FTP
- Hosting control panel (cPanel used as a specific example)

The recommended installation method for most people is through the WordPress admin, though some theme updates may require the use of S/FTP or your hosting control panel. Instructions for all three options can be found in the Using Themes Codex article.


Managing Custom Menus

Modern WordPress themes include native custom menu support which allows you to configure your theme menus however you like in a convenient drag-and-drop interface. With a custom menu you can easily add custom links, pages, and categories to your navigation menu. Follow the instructions below for more information on how to create and mange custom menus.

  1. Log into your WordPress Admin (e.g. yoursite.com/wp-admin), and navigate to Appearance > Menus.
  2. By default your pages will be listed, so click 'create new menu' to begin setting up your menu
  3. On the left you will see options to add 'Pages', 'Custom Links', and 'Categories' to your menu.
  4. Once done, click 'Save Menu' to save your custom menu, then under 'Menu Settings' check the box beside your desired menu location.

Adding Albums

To add music to your site, you create Albums. You can select a featured album in the WordPress Customizer that will allow be available in the player on every page of your site. The featured album will also appear on the homepage, if enabled through the customizer.

  1. Within your WordPress admin, expand the “Albums” tab, then select “Add New“.
  2. Create a title for your album post and add your album content within the post editor.
  3. Add a short excerpt within the “Excerpt” box.
  4. Under the “Album Information” box, you can add the Artist, Album, Release Date, Genre and Purchase links. This information will appear on the single album pages.
  5. Add a Featured Image for your Album.

Adding songs to an Album is as easy as attaching them to that post. Any song that is attached to an Album post, will automatically be pulled in and able to play. There are a couple different ways to attach a song to an Album.

Adding Music through post

  1. Inside the same Album edit page, select Add Media.
  2. Here, you can upload new songs, or select songs that were previously uploaded.
  3. Once selected, you can close the media pop-up and save the post. This will cause those media files to be attached to the Album.

Adding Music through Media Uploader

  1. Within your WordPress admin, select the “Media” tab.
  2. Here, you can upload new songs, or select songs that were previously uploaded.
  3. In the main Media Library list, pick the song you’d like to associate with an Album, and select Attach under the Uploaded to column.
  4. When the list of posts/pages pops up, find the Album you want and select it.

To reorder a list of songs on an Album page, you can change the order of the attachments under the Attributes section of the single media pages.

Adding an Album archive page

  1. Within your WordPress admin, select the “Page” tab.
  2. You can add a title and content to the page.
  3. To set the page as an Album archive template, select the Template dropdown on the right sidebar and choose Albums
Adding Shows
  1. Within your WordPress admin, expand the “Shows” tab, then select “Add New“.
  2. Create a title for your show and add your show description within the post editor.
  3. Add a short excerpt within the “Excerpt” box.
  4. Under the “show Information” box, you can add the Date, Venue, Address, Additional Info and a Tickets Purchase link. This information will appear on the single show pages, as well as the upcoming shows archive modules.
Creating Products

The Album theme supports the WooCommerce plugin for your eCommerce solutions. Installing WooCommerce will allow you to enable and feature products on the homepage, as seen on the theme demo. Please note that these instructions do not include information on how to setup and use the WooCommerce plugin. For more detailed information on how to use WooCommerce, please refer to the official WooCommerce documentation.

  1. Within your WordPress admin, expand the “Products” tab, then select “Add Product“.
  2. Create a title for your product post and add detailed product information within the post editor.
  3. Add a short excerpt within the “Product Short Description” box.
  4. Add a featured image for the product.
